The market is saturated with weight loss pills which promise an easy way to lose weight. These pills are broadly classified into two categories commonly referred to as fat-binders or fat-blockers. The process of weight loss by this method is based on the fact that these pills presumably reduce the assimilation of fats from the food into the intestines. Fat-blockers work by restraining the lipase enzyme in the intestines which aids in digestion of fat by breaking it down. Consequently, the fat cannot be assimilated and passes freely through the bowels. Fat-binders, on the other hand, claim to bind themselves to the fat molecules, thereby restraining it from being absorbed by the intestine. However, this therapy has severe side effects and cannot be considered a healthy option.

Appetite suppressants are another class of weight loss supplements that destroy the appetite by simulating a feeling of being full. While there are many known natural appetite suppressants which were discovered by tribal hunters and used by them on long hunting expeditions, these cannot be considered healthy in prolonged usage and the authenticity of the products available in the market is suspect.

That would mean that the only logical and technical way to lose weight would be to reduce the intake of calories and increase the level of exercise. This would result in the body tapping into the energy reserves stored around the waist, hips and other parts of the anatomy since it ceased to get the same from the food intake. Hence, sadly there is no easy way to lose weight.
